Movement On Quebec Wagering Front
The Association Trot et Amble du Quebec (ATAQ) has reported initial progress in regard to the resurrection of wagering within the province of Quebec
on horse racing.
The organization has stated that La Régie des Alcools, des Courses et des Jeux (RACJ) has issued a racing license to the Jockey Club of Quebec.
The RACJ-issued license is required by the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency (CPMA) so it can issue licenses for the operation of pari-mutuel activities.
The ATAQ announcement states that it is expecting to receive an update from the CPMA over the next week. The issuing of a permit by the CPMA would kick-start the process of being able to get internet wagering options running within the province.
The announcement also stated that the Jockey Club of Quebec is continuing its work to get off-track wagering locations up and running as soon as possible.
