High Gear No Fear On A Roll
Make it a Grand Slam for High Gear No Fear following his front-stepping score in Thursday’s $20,000 trotting feature at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
With Doug McNair at the controls, High Gear No Fear got away third in his bid for a fourth consecutive win before marching the top at the mid-way point. Tymal Riggs cut the quarter in :27.1 before High Gear No Fear marched up on the rim and took charge at the half in :56.4.
High Gear No Fear was still in charge at the three-quarter pole in 1:27.1, and from there he used a :28.4 final frame to win by three-quarters of a length over Tymal Riggs in 1:56. Taking home third prize in the seven-horse affair was Tymal Tarot.
Steve Bossence trains the four-year-old son of Whom Shall I Fear-Flower Bouquet, who was sent off as the 1-5 favourite, for owner Stephen Palermo of Etobicoke, ON. The victory was the seventh lifetime tally for the career winner of $61,520.
