Bettor Trix N Upsets In Preferred
A change of scenery and a ground-saving trip for most of the mile helped Bettor Trix N post an upset victory in Thursday’s featured $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 for pacers at Flamboro Downs.
Trainer/driver J.R. Plante got away third with Bettor Trix N in the seven-mare affair while Lyons Girlhanover sped to the top and rolled the field through first half fractions of :28.3 and :58.4.
Bettor Trix N popped out of the three-hole in the backstretch and sprinted alongside Lyons Girlhanover at the three-quarter pole in 1:27 before using a :29.1 closing panel to post the neck decision over race favourite Manhattan Night in 1:56.1. Lyons Girlhanover faded to finish third.
Sent off at odds of 11-1, the seven-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight-Tricky Woman posted her second win of the season and the 22nd of her career. Owned by Curtin Anz Stables of Bordentown, NJ, the distaffer has banked $243,597 to date.
