Scuola Hanover Rises, Repeats At Dover
Scuola Hanover captured the $16,000 Mares Winners Over/Select Pace on Wednesday (March 17) at Dover Downs.
My Kiwi Lady N vaulted to a clear lead from her outside post seven and controlled a pedestrian :57.2 first half before Art Stafford Jr. pulled 4-5 favourite Scuola Hanover from fourth to mount a first-over attack on the backstretch. After a :27 third-quarter duel, Scuola Hanover wore down My Kiwi Lady N on the final turn and won by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:51.1 over Sassas Sister (Tim Tetrick). My Kiwi Lady N (Ross Wolfenden) faded to third.
Trainer Andrew Stafford, who co-owns Scuola Hanover with Art Stafford and Thomas Ireland, said, "She loves to work and is real sharp right now." The six-year-old daughter of A Rocknroll Dance has now won 23 races in her career, including her last two.
Racing at Dover Downs continues on Thursday (March 18). Post time is 4:30 p.m.
