Fresh from saving the Santa Anita, Gulfstream Park, Golden Gate, AmTote and XpressBet operations for his MI Developments, he was in a talkative mood with reporters.

As an expert on problems, he advocated unity, saying, “racing’s got a problem, right? And when you’ve got a problem you should know you’ve got a problem. I think the key players, we’ve got to sit down and say, ‘look, those are our problems. What are we going to do to get the industry back on a healthy basis?’”
