Harry G Jets In London
Odds-on favourite Harry G circled to the lead moving to the final turn and coasted to the finish of a 1:56.3 mile to take the $10,000 featured pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday (March 9).
Leaving from post 5, Harry G landed in third while neighboring Spectrum Seelster darted to the front before a :28 opening quarter. Spectrum Seelster continued on the point under no challenge to a :58 half, but failed to keep Harry G at bay when driver Doug McNair mounted his charge towards the top passing three-quarters in 1:27.1. Opening three lengths off the final turn, Harry G strolled to the finish one length better than Livin Large, who tracked the winner’s far-turn move to take second. Ozzie Young, off a pocket trip, finished third.
A four-year-old gelding by Rollwithitharry, Harry G won his 11th race from 30 starts, earning $52,812. Mike Saftic trains the $3.00 winner for owner Christina Gillis.
