Curtain Closes At Charlottetown
Trainer Jennifer Doyle ended the Prince Edward Island racing season on a high note as her trainee Chocolate Swirl went all the way in the $2,850 Preferred Pace on Sunday afternoon's (Feb. 7) season-ending card at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Jason Hughes drove Chocolate Swirl to a 1:57.4 score for Doyle, who shares ownership with Danny Birt. Bugsy Maguire (Gilles Barrieau) rallied to finish second, while Pictonian Storm (Gordie Hennessey) completed the triactor.
Doyle and Birt came back to win the final dash of the meet as well, as Mantario (David Dowling) turned in a 1:57.4 victory over Adkins Hanover (Ambyr Campbell) and Sports Royalty (Barrieau).

Hughes also won with Jetta Flys (2:00.2) for trainer Stephen Quinn and with Warrawee Ulla (1:59.2) from his own stable.
Babbling won his fifth straight race to remain undefeated since coming to Eastern Canada. Barrieau drove the Mike Dowling trainee to a 1:59.2 win.
