Eric Johnston Passes
Trot Insider has learned that long-time horseman and former Standardbred Canada Director Eric Johnston passed away peacefully at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, PE on Monday, December 14, 2020. He was 90.
Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Arthur B. and Florence (MacLeod) Johnston. Survived by his children Eric (Margaret), Donna MacKay, Ric (Shelley), Kandy Clarke, Robert and Melody Murphy; grandchildren Eric, Jr., Courtney, Glenn, Cody, Jeremy, Carrie, Nikki, Tasha, Brody, Brittney, Ashley, Angela and Autumn; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister Lorraine (David) Penley; and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant daughter Jocelyn.
Resting at Moase Funeral Home in Summerside, a Celebration of Life will be held for Johnson at a later date. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside.
