Tully New GM At Goshen
The Board of Directors at Goshen Historic Track are pleased to announce that the position of General Manager has been filled by Chris Tully
. The current Monticello-Goshen USHWA chapter president and former USTA District 8 director brings his lifelong involvement in the sport and business of harness racing to the Cradle of the Trotter. Tully's duties will include publicity, public relations, supervision of track maintenance and training center management.
Historic Track President, Bernie White, was excited to welcome Tully to the Orange County oval, “Chris has the enthusiasm and commitment to harness racing that the board was looking for. He has a number of exciting promotional ideas as well as a solid background in management. We look forward to working with him.”
Located in downtown Goshen, NY, the tradition-rich facility is adjacent to the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame. Established in 1838, the former home of The Hambletonian is also known as the world's oldest harness track and is a National Historic Landmark. The track's 20-acre infield and 2000 seat grandstand have provided harness racing fans with some of the greatest summertime memories the sport has to offer. From the first half-mile track sub two-minute mile (Greyhound 1:59 ¾ in 1937) to the rich New York Sire Stakes, Historic Track racing and the Great American Weekend have become an Independence Day travel destination.
Due to its central location and picturesque setting, Goshen Historic Track is also a popular year-round training facility. Sporting an all-weather banked, half-mile track that was recently refurbished by international track experts Chuck Coon and Sons, many prominent trainers, including the Ray Schnittker Stable, call Historic Track home.
