CDP Boxing Day Card Set

Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park will host a full day of harness racing with its traditional Boxing Day Card on Saturday

. First-race post time is 1:00 p.m. for CDP's final card of 2009 season.

The feature race, scheduled for post at 4:05 p.m. (AST), has Lakota Hall back to take on Island Jazzystar in the $2,400 class.

Lakota Hall won the match-up last week from Post 5 for Walter Cheverie and his co-owner John Thompson of Charlottetown. This week, they move outside to Post 7, while the luck of the draw has Mitchell's Tierney's Island Jazzystar remaining at Post 4.

It's a complex field with top guns like Pans O Silver, driven by Brodie MacPhee who is home for the holidays, and Yankee Sun, with the Maritime's top driver Kenny Arsenault, also drawing outside posts.

Unfluffnbelievable has landed on the rail for owner Jennifer Doyle of Vernon River, while Beautys Spur, with Gary Chappell, and Olivia Hall, who has banked close to $20,000 this season, line up next for driver Ron Matheson.

Porthill Alf and Marc Campbell are always in the hunt. The nine-year-old pacer, trained by Duane MacEachern for owner Marvyn Webster of Tyne Valley, will make is 37th start of the season. A win would notch his 10th victory of the season.

The Trot Challenge, presented by Johnston's Salads and Keybrand Foods Inc, will be decided on Saturday. Corey Macpherson's second place finish last week with Caliban Hanover pushed him into top spot with 135 points. Gary Chappell, who was shut out in terms of points in his last start, slides to second place with 132. The year-long competition awards points on a 10-7-5 basis for a 1-2-3 finish with trotters at the CDP. The winner receives a $1 per point and the championship trophy.

The Pick 6 contest returns on Saturday after one contestant almost went the distance last week landing five out of six winners. Panzo Two is the morning line favorite in Race 6 to lead off Pick 6 players which carries a jackpot of $1,000. Here are the combinations from race analysts Gerard Smith and Les MacIsaac.

Smith's numbers for the Pick 6: 4, 7, 2, 4, 4 and 3.
MacIsaac's numbers for Pick 6: 2, 5, 5, 3, 4 and 2.
