Four In A Row For Intended Royalty
Fresh off a clean sweep in the Nova Scotia Governor's Cup Series at Northside Downs, Randy and Edward Copley's Intended Royalty ($2.60) invaded Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 15) and delivered a decisive 1:56.4 score — his fourth consecutive win — in the $2,000 featured pace.
Redmond Doucet wasted absolutely no time achieving control of the terms with the nine-year-old No Pan Intended gelding. The pair split rivals from post 2 to seize the early lead and force Ashestodiamonds (Darren Crowe) to duck into the pocket through a :28 first quarter, and from there, they faced nary a challenger. After rating a :58.2 half, Intended Royalty accelerated on the second circuit to evade a mild first-over bid from Daddy Let Me Drive (Rodney Gillis) before drawing away steadily to win by six lengths. Ashestodiamonds protected second from the pocket; Lady N Paradise (Craig Carey) emerged up the open stretch to claim third.
Intended Royalty has won 12 of his 20 races so far this season, and has amassed 47 wins thus far in his career.
