Triples Abound At Red Shores

It was a night of triples Thursday as three drivers dominated the program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Marc Campbell celebrated three winners on the card as the Winsloe reinsman continues his lead in the driving standings for the 11th straight season.

Dreamfair Zenfire was the biggest Campbell winner of the night as she took a pocket ride to win the $2,550 featured fillies and mares pace in 1:54.4 from his own stable for owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris.

La Vie En Rose was the first part of the Campbell triple with a 1:58.1 new lifetime best for her second straight win for trainer Stacey Lund while Traces Of Purple supplied his third win in 1:57.1 for trainer Robert Phillips.

Gilles Barrieau was another recipient of a driving triple including a 1:57.4 score aboard Mile Hill Willie in the $2,350 Open trot from the Paul Morrison stable.

Barrieau also visited the historic winner’s circle with Cheeky Little Minx (2:00.3) from his own stable and Ubettimagoodone (1:59.1) for trainer Jeff Lilley.

David Dowling celebrated three winning steers on the program including a pair of wins for trainer Earl Watts. Dowling and Watts teamed up to win with Therealdeal (1:57.3) and Howmac Missy (2:00.1) while the Jennifer Doyle trained Southwind Ion (1:56.2) was the other Dowling driven winner of the night.
