Campbell’s Hot Streak Continues
Driver Brandon Campbell’s reign over Century Downs persisted on the Tuesday (Oct. 27) program when the Alberta pilot drove another five winners, four of which came from his own barn, during the nine-race card.
Campbell steered his pupil Tiempo Hanover to victory in the afternoon’s feature, a $9,000 Open Pace. The six-year-old Western Ideal gelding cleared command to a :27.1 opening quarter and sped through fractions of :55.4 and 1:23.3 to win by three-quarter lengths over a fast-closing I Ama Rocket in 1:53.3. Outlaw Gunsablazin kicked from third over for third, three lengths behind the winner. Campbell trains the $3.80 winner for owners Dana Shore, Peter Chanak and Jodi Loftus as Tiempo Hanover scored his 12th win from 21 starts this season and his 15th from 113 overall, earning $152,465.
Tiempo Hanover marked the second win on the day for Campbell. He started the afternoon with an off-the-pace score by his trainee Machabyebaby ($2.80) and later on the day drove Dontworrydonthurry ($28.10) to a win. Campbell capped the card with a sweep of the daily double, steering his trainees Chase The Ace ($2.70) and Ima Momas Boy ($2.40) to victories.
Scoring several multiple-win days through the month, Campbell has posted 33 victories over eight race cards this month at Century Downs. Including drives at Fraser Downs, Campbell has sat behind 149 horses and visited the winner’s circle on 57 occasions.
