Hey Livvy Explosive In Preferred
After a near miss in last week’s Preferred Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park, Hey Livvy took a different tactical approach and came away victorious in Monday’s $36,000 feature.
Hey Livvy rallied from out of the clouds to be a bang-up second last week, but she marched to the front this time for driver Trevor Henry and came away with another impressive victory.
Perfetto had the field chasing him to the quarter pole in :27.4, but Hey Livvy marched on and cleared to the front in the backstretch. She produced middle panels of :55.4 and 1:23.3 before using a :27.4 final frame to win by three-quarters of a length over Perfetto in 1:51.2. Mass Fortune K was third.
Jeff Gillis trains the five-year-old daughter of Donato Hanover-Nevis Bi for Henry and partners Blue Chip Bloodstock and Ellen Ott. The win was the eighth of the season and the 20th of her career. The lion’s share of the loot lifted her earnings over $400,000.
