Temagami Seelster Surges In Feature
It took every inch of the mile but Temagami Seelster found her way back to the winner’s circle in the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Brodie MacPhee engineered the winning journey in the $2,300 featured fillies and mares pace as Temagami Seelster got up in the final strides to overtake pacesetter Better Be In Love (Driven by Jason Hughes) in a neck decision of 1:57.4. Third went to Collective Wisdom (Kenny Arsenault).
Tom Weatherbie trains Temagami Seelster for owners Joseph Lewis and David Mercer of Sydney and Wayne McGean of Sydney Mines, N.S.
The $1,800 top trot of the evening saw a colossal upset as Professor Gordon easily disposed of his rivals with a seven-length victory in 2:01.3 for driver Adam Merner and owner-trainer Deanna Clow of New Haven. Wedgewood (Joey Pineau) secured second while the $2.10 favourite Banker Twentyfive (Marc Campbell) spotted the field after making a break behind the gate and finished third.
The son of Angus Hall paid $26.80 to win in a field scratched down to just four entries.
