Järvsöfaks Reaches 200 Wins
Legendary European trotter Järvsöfaks reached the 200 win mark this past weekend at Sweden's Umåker
racetrack.
With his trainer Jan-Olov Persson at the lines, Järvsöfaks controlled the field leaving from the outside and the landmark win came in weather that was reportedly close to hailstorm conditions.
"I feel so privileged to have been allowed to race with this guy for such a long time," Persson said to ATG after the win. "He has given me so many good times, and so many memories from various race tracks it’s almost impossible to keep all of them in mind."
Nearly one year ago, the trotter passed legendary coldblood Alm Svarten as the all-time winngest trotter in European racing. Alm Svarten won 182 races in his career.
"As wins come and go, this one today ranks really high, as it has been a goal for quite some time, and now we finally have reached it."
Persson continued to say that his 15-year-old would make his final lifetime start at Romme on December 28 before retiring to full concentrate on stud duties - something Järvsöfaks has done throughout the 2000s.
