Join Western Fair's Christmas Drive
Western Fair Raceway would like to encourage patrons and participants to join in its third annual toy drive to help the Salvation Army’s efforts to provide toys for
deserving children in the London, Ont. area.
Driver Brad Forward kick-started the effort, as he donated all of his earnings from Western Fair’s card on Monday, December 7, an amount which was matched by the track, for a total of more than $1,100.
Trainer Scott McNiven and his wife Kim are doing their part as well, as they have requested attendees to their annual Christmas party next week to bring a donation for the toy drive. Last year the couple was pleasantly surprised by the response to their request.
“I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised by everyone’s generosity, but we weren’t quite prepared for the mound of toys that we collected at the party," Kim said at the time. "We had to find four huge bags to transport them all over to the track."
A horse trailer, generously donated by Granton Trailers, is located in the front lobby of the track ready to accept donations of unwrapped toys up until the end of the race card next Tuesday, December 15.
For those wishing to make a donation but unable to make it to the track, please contact the race office at 519-438-7203 (Ext. 509) or email [email protected].
