Leamington 'Capping Contest Update
Nicholas 'Ace' Barnsdale narrowed the gap this week, but Leamington track announcer Nathan Bain continues to hold the lead after week three of the Leamington Raceway Handicapping Challenge.
Barnsdale, who provides analysis for Ontario Racing’s online 'Picks From The Pros,' closed the gap by landing all 10 of his top choices in the first three finishers.
Bain now leads 215 to 212 after starting the day with a 10-point lead. Both handicappers selected three top-choice winners on the day’s card on a day where drivers Marc St. Louis Jr., Tyler Borth, and Gene Piroski all recorded driving doubles.
The Handicapping Challenge is co-sponsored by the Canadian chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) and online Standardbred marketplace HoofBid. It is contested every Sunday to the final day of the 2020 Leamington Raceway meet on October 25, with $300 awarded to the winner and $200 to the runner-up.
