Priceless Edition Unstoppable At Rideau

Stopping Priceless Edition in the Preferred class at Rideau Carleton Raceway in recent weeks has been as tough as stopping the Minnesota Vikings’ star running back Adrian Peterson on a Sunday afternoon on the gridiron

.

The Mark Steacy-trained five-year-old son of Real Desire steamrolled to his third consecutive victory in the featured class on Sunday night, and that pushed his win streak to three-in-a-row.

Gord Brown landed into an early four hole with Priceless Edition, who wound up being first over on the way to the half. He had no problem sprinting to the lead in the third quarter, and a :28.3 final frame saw him take off to win by more than three lengths in a time of 1:53.4. Sent off as the 3-5 favourite, Priceless Edition soundly defeated Mild Mannered and Imjustalittleguy.

Peter Heffering of Port Perry, ON bred and owns the gelding, who picked up his fifth win of the campaign and the 27th of his career. The winner’s share of the $12,100 purse bumped this year’s bankroll to $72,765 and his overall earnings to $394,954.
