Hensley Scores A Training Triple
Ed Hensley continued to dominate at Fraser Downs sending out three winners from his stable during the
10-race program.
The 45-year-old horseman opened the card with a 6-1/4 length win aboard three-year-old pacing filly Designer Dreams (1:56.1).
Hensley returned to the winner’s circle after guiding four-year-old Fast Change Art (1:56) to victory in Race 7, which was marred by an one-horse spill. Leaving from the trailing nine post Promising Humor broke stride and fell at the start of the race tossing Mike Hennessy from the sulky. Both horse and driver were up quickly and appeared to avoid serious injuries. Hennessy was back in the bike in the following race and did complete his remaining drives.
Hensley continued his winning ways in ninth race with seven-year-old Stonebridge Camlot (1:54.3). He also drove the Raymond Gemmill-trained Custom Crafted (1:57.4) to victory in the finale.
With 55 training wins on the year, Hensley has earned $587,485 in purses. His training triple pushed his career win total to 1,374 and earnings to over $6.58 milion.
