Amalgamation Coming In New Zealand?
A New Zealand horseracing task force has recommended a 'one industry' approach to racing governance in the country. The task force has stated that millions of dollars in operating costs could be saved with a combined, streamlined
framework.
An article on yahoo.com states that the New Zealand Racing Board and the New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing executive have both thrown support behind the idea, but still have to introduced the idea to the standardbred and greyhound racing associations.
"The future survival of the racing industry depends on our ability to get maximum benefit from our collective resources, to think strategically and act decisively," NZTR chairman Guy Sargent was quoted as saying in the article.
"Maintaining the status quo is not an option."
