Kin Pace Elims Set For Sunday

The 2020 Kin Pace eliminations program at Clinton Raceway this Sunday (June 28) has attracted a great volume of 17 entries for three exciting eliminations. The top finishers will qualify for the $64,000 final on Sunday, July 5.

Among those taking part will be many of the nation's most accomplished trainers and drivers. Hall Of Fame trainer Bob McIntosh is sending two fillies into battle. The list of horsepeople with Woodbine Mohawk Park connections competing at Clinton Raceway on Sunday includes Jack Darling, Nick Gallucci, and Richard Moreau along with drivers Trevor Henry, Bob McClure, Doug McNair, J Harris and Jody Jamieson.

A top local hopeful in the Kin Pace first elimination is Bold Type, sent out by Allenford, Ont.-based trainer Ted MacDonnell with meet leading driver Brett MacDonald aboard. She tuned up with a 1:56 clocking at Georgian Downs on June 16.

The second elimination of the Kin Pace looms as a great match-up of rapidly- improving fillies. High Roller Duke, seeking to build on a 1:56.3 win at Hanover on June 20, starts in post two with Doug McNair named to drive by owner Glenview Livestock of Wallenstein, Ont. and trainer Lacey McCabe. In this split, the combination of trainer Bob McIntosh and driver Trevor Henry will team up with post six starter Mouth Watering, who is fresh from a bold first-over try and third-place finish in 1:55 at Mohawk.

The day's speediest entrant to date is found in the third elimination as leading Ottawa horseman Guy Gagnon sends out Tuggingoncredit, with Tyler Moore named for race bike duty. She earned an open lengths win in 1:54.4 at Rideau Carleton Raceway on June 18 in her final tune-up for the Kin Pace.

First post time each Sunday is 1:30 p.m. through September 6 for the 2020 season at Clinton Raceway. Although the live action is closed to spectators, The Super Sunday Show, Survivor Handicapping Challenge, and The Catch Driver Pick-4 sponsored by COSA (with a low 15% takeout) can be seen on clintonraceway.com and the track's Facebook page. Wagering on Clinton Raceway is available with a free sign-up to HPIBet.com.
