Cup-Bound Odds On Osiris Tightening
Odds On Osiris cracked the Top 10 in TROT Magazine's 2020 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book off of his strong freshman campaign in Indiana. The son of Rockin Image is continuing to prepare for his 'glamour boy' season, and the Melanie Wrenn trainee put forth yet another victorious performance on Wednesday (June 24).
Odds On Osiris' Wednesday effort came during Harrah's Hoosier Park's 10-dash qualifying session, which was contested over a 'fast' track. The gelding lined up in Post 6 for Race 4 and was intent on being on the lead early.
Not happy with the prospect of a first-quarter tuck, driver Peter Wrenn raced overland on the lead past the :28.4 quarter pole. Wrenn and his charge cleared their foes in the second panel and had opened up two lengths by the time they passed the half-mile station in :57.2. The duo continued to roll on the point, as they paced past the three quarters indicator in 1:25.3 and opened up from there.
By the time Wrenn and Odds On Osiris hit the top of the lane, the duo was ahead by seven and a half lengths. The pair was intent on finishing up the mile strong, which they did. Odds On Osiris sprinted home in 26 seconds and froze the timer in 1:51.3. The winning margin was large, measured at 13 and one quarter lengths.
Odds On Osiris made 10 Indiana starts last season as a two-year-old. The bay won seven of his races and missed the board on just one occasion. Odds On Osiris excelled in the sires stakes program and captured his division's $270,000 final in the fall. Odds On Osiris is owned by Odds On Racing.
This spring, Odds On Osiris was earmarked as the 28-1 ninth selection in TROT Magazine's 2020 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book. To view the spring book odds, click here.
Hoosier's Wednesday qualifying session also saw five two-year-old races face the gate, and the fastest of those miles was recorded by the Erv Miller-trained and Trace Tetrick-driven Railin Jennings (JK Endofanera--Cinnamon Girl), who paced to a gate-to-wire, 1:56.1 win. Railin Jennings' margin of victory was 13 lengths.
