Purpose Blue Chip Cruises At Vernon

Purpose Blue Chip ($2.10) won the $4,800 trotting feature on Wednesday (June 17) at Vernon Downs.

American JJ (Michael Miller) went to the first quarter in :27.1 before yielding to Purpose Blue Chip and trainer-driver Dan Daley. He used a :29.2 second quarter to hit the half in :56.3. American JJ tried to keep up, but Purpose Blue Chip cruised to three-quarters in 1:25, grabbed a three-length lead in the stretch, and coasted to a 1:54.2 lifetime mark. Getting Serious (Roman Lopez) emerged to take the battle for second, and Give Angel Credit (Joe Nassimos) came up to get third.

Purpose Blue Chip, a five-year-old son of Chapter Seven, is two-for-two in 2020 for Ann-Mari Daley, Donald Brenner and James Crawford IV. He now has six career victories.

Fern Paquet Jr. drove four winners on the night, including 29-1 long shot Racingtowardadream ($60.50).
