Baby Races Thursday And Friday At Mohawk; Training Added To Saturday
Woodbine Mohawk Park’s race office has announced that this week’s 'baby races' (two-year-old qualifiers) will be split between Thursday and Friday morning.
Baby races for two-year-old trotting fillies will take place during Thursday’s qualifiers, while all other two-year-olds will qualify on Friday morning.
A total of 122 two-year-olds were entered.
Qualifiers begin each day at 9:30 a.m.
With this week’s baby races on Thursday and Friday, Mohawk Park will now open for training on Saturday.
Sign-up for training will open today (Wednesday, June 10) at 3 p.m.
Trainers are limited to no more than 10 horses per day. A limit of 50 horses are permitted in the paddock during a training time slot. Training time slots will be in 2.5-hour increments (6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.).
All paddock COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place for training hours, including the requirement to have all personnel wearing a face mask. Only trainers and essential licensed personnel over the age of 16 will be permitted through the security check point.
