Vernon On The Cusp Of Racing Return

Vernon Downs owner Jeff Gural has announced that plans are in place for the track to host qualifying sessions and live racing in the very near future.

According to comments that Gural has made to the Rome Sentinel, plans are in place for Vernon to host qualifying sessions on June 2 and 4. The track is planning on hosting its return card of live pari-mutuel racing on June 10.

Social distancing protocols will be in place and the track will be closed to the public until further notice. Customers looking to wager on Vernon's on-track product will have to opportunity to do so remotely.

Gural has said that, in June, Vernon will most likely host live racing on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but that the schedule could switch to Thursdays and Saturdays at some point.
