A Training Triple For Treen

Trainer/driver Barry Treen enjoyed a productive Saturday night at Fraser Downs’ 5/8-mile oval capturing one third of the nine races

In the opener, Treen angled Alley Scat out from third at the three-quarters mark and two-year-old Mach Three-No Time Off filly came on to post a 9-1 upset in 2:02.1. The win was Alley Scat’s first in four starts for owner/breeder Dr. James Findlay of Maple Ridge, B.C.

Treen found himself back in the winner’s circle with favourite Celtic Bonnie after she captured the fifth race in wire-to-wire fashion in 1:56.2. The five-year-old daughter of D M Dilinger-Celtic Myst has won half of her 22 starts this year for owners Tammy Lynn Turner of Langley and Elizabeth Barbour of Abbotsford, B.C.

Treen’s three tallies bumped his win total to 36 for the year and earnings to $137,444. The resident of Langley, B.C. has won 590 races lifetime and over $2.3 million in purses.
