Nancy Takter's Fantasy Stable
Who would harness racing's sharpest minds select in the 2020 Trot Magazine Fantasy Stable? Trot Insider will feature 'expert picks' in advance of the deadline for this year's contest.
New to the panel of experts this year is trainer Nancy Takter, who has offered her analysis for the 2020 Fantasy Stable. After back-to-back Dan Patch Awards in the two-year-old pacing colt division with Captain Crunch (2018) and Tall Dark Stranger (2019), Takter's insight for that division in the 2020 Fantasy Stable is not to be overlooked. And quite understandably, she's selected two colts she knows very well -- One Eight Hundred and Gretzky.
"One Eight Hundred and Gretzky are both very well-bred sons of Somebeachsomewhere both have trained down to this point very easily. They are both great gaited and have good attitudes."
Sold as Some Terror at the 2019 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, One Eight Hundred was a $800,000 yearling sale purchase of Takter and Brixton Medical Ab. A son of Somebeachsomewhere from the world champion Economy Terror, One Eight Hundred fetched the highest price ever for a pacing yearling selling at auction.
Originally named Full Of It Hanover, Gretzky (Somebeachsomewhere - Francessa) was a $310,000 Harrisburg purchase with Diamond Creek Racing,J And T Silva Stables, Order By Stable and Howard Taylor partnering on the ownership. Gretzky is the first foal of Francessa, a half-sister to double millionaire Downbytheseaside.
