Jamieson’s Magic Number Is 82
The magic number is now 82 for driver Jody Jamieson, who is pulling out all the stops to go after the Canadian record for the most wins in a single season
.
The current record of 739 wins set by Mark MacDonald in the 2006 season is well within reach for Jamieson, who has racked up 657 wins at Canadian tracks in 2009. The Cambridge, ON teamster savoured a four-win performance at Georgian Downs on Tuesday evening, and that leaves him 82 wins away from matching the record.
It has been a hectic schedule from the start of the season for Jamieson, but he’s not letting up on the accelerator as the days on the calendar slowly begin to melt away.
He’ll make his way to Flamboro for eight driving assignments on Wednesday afternoon, and he’ll pull double duty on Thursday starting with 11 assignments at Flamboro in the afternoon followed by another nine at Woodbine later that evening. He has nine more drives lined up for Woodbine on Friday evening, and is scheduled to sit behind 10 starters at Woodbine on Saturday night.
