Baillargeon: Voelz Hanover Coming Back

Trot Insider has spoken with trainer Ben Baillargeon in regard to Voelz Hanover, the multiple stakes winning daughter of Astreos which will be coming out of a retirement after a failed breeding attempt

.

"After winning her (Ontario Sires Stakes) Super Final last year, she went on to race in the Breeders Crown at the Meadowlands where she cracked a pastern in behind," Baillargeon told Trot Insider.

"We decided to breed her to Mach Three, but she didn't catch."

Baillargeon explained that the career winner of 13 races and over $662,000 in purses is completely over her injury and has been in training since June.

"She's been in 2:15 and will probably be ready to qualify in about a month," the conditioner explained. "Realistically, we hope to have her ready for the beginning of the year (2010)."

Baillargeon told Trot Insider that Voelz Hanover will qualify at least a couple of times before she comes back to take on her fellow mares.

"With the money she made in the Super Final, she'll have to go up against the top mares when she returns."
