Help Horsepeople In Ontario Self Isolate
The Ontario Harness Horse Association is doing what it can to help Standardbred horsepeople that are required to self-isolate.
As an OHHA release explains, trainers that are preparing to return to Ontario with horses that have been outside of the province, they are returning to uncertain conditions.
As everyone should be aware, individuals returning from outside of Ontario will be required to self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days, according to OHHA. The act of self isolation will obviously require alternate plans for the care of any horses that are returning to the province.
If you are in a position to assist these trainers and horses upon their arrival, please contact the OHHA office, which will try its best to put everyone in touch with each other.
Additionally, OHHA is asking that if you have private stabling accommodations which are available and would be willing to assist, the gesture would be helpful in segregating those horses, the trainers and their employees.
Limiting exposure, social distancing and proper hygienic practices will hopefully minimize the exposure to COVID-19 (coronavirus), minimize the impact of the virus and help control further transmission.
OHHA is continuing to work with government officials in order to ensure that horsepeople have the necessary supports that they require to assist them through these unprecedented times.
