The Lakeshore Horse Racing Association was honoured to accept the Ken Dryden Executive of the Year Award on Tuesday, March 10 at the annual Windsor Essex Sports People of the Year Awards Banquet.

“On behalf of our entire organization, we would like to thank the WESPY committee for recognizing the efforts of everyone that has contributed to the success of the Leamington Raceway, especially during this past year that saw tremendous growth,” stated Lakeshore President Mark Williams.

“Our track is truly run by horsepeople for horsepeople and this award belongs to all of the people behind the scenes that work so hard to put on such a great family event every race day. We are obviously very proud of our success and are working diligently to ensure that we have race dates and funding for many more years to come.”

Also during the program, Gord McDonnell was awarded the Circle of Seven Horseman of the Year Award for his successful 2019 racing season.

Racing is scheduled to return to Leamington on Sunday, August 9 and will take place every Sunday afternoon until October 25. A special Monday afternoon card has also been scheduled for September 7.
