Prix d’Amerique Tour Package Offered
Equi Tours, a Swedish company specializing in horse-related travel, is once again offering a tour package to guests from North America and Down Under to the
Prix d’Amerique in Paris, France in January.
The Prix d’Amerique is the greatest trotting spectacle in the world and the 2010 race will be held on Sunday, January 31.
Equi Tours guests on the 2009 Prix d’Amerique tour were Johanna and Charlie Beaver, Karin Olson-Burgess and Blair Burgess, Marsha Cohen, Joyce and Tom Dillon, Peter Gerry, Tom Hicks, Maryellen and Dave McDuffee, Don Richards and Bonnie Smith.
The tour package covers ground costs as guests as invited to make their own airline arrangement to arrive and depart whenever they wish.
The tour starts Thursday, Jan.28 with a “Paris By Night” sightseeing tour and dinner afterwards. On Friday afternoon the group travels to the Vincennes racecourse for a Stallion Expo and trade fair as well as a horse auction.
On Saturday morning the group tours the exquisite Grobois training centre, complete with its own royal chateau. Guests will have a chance to speak with prominent trainers and see hundreds of trotters undergo their daily training regimen. On Saturday night Equi Tours hosts a cocktail party in which prominent horsemen, such as the internationally-famous Berndt Lindstedt, talk about the history of the Prix d’Amerique.
Sunday is race day and Equi Tours guests have a reserved seat for one of the greatest days in harness racing.
The tour package is priced from $1,095 (US) per person, based on double occupancy. The deadline for making a reservation is Nov. 30.
