Tracks Announced For TCNHC

The countdown is on the for the 2009 Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship which will take place Sunday, November 8 at Rideau Carleton Raceway

in the nation’s capital.

Tournament officials have confirmed the following tracks for the Championship races:

• Flamboro Downs
• Rideau Carleton
• Windsor Raceway
• Woodbine Racetrack.

At least one mandatory race will be selected from each of the above tracks. The four tracks offer a variety of product in terms of race conditions and classes, and also offer different sized racing surfaces from a half-mile to a seven-eights mile.

Flamboro Downs will kick off the Canadian harness racing action with a 6:00 p.m. first-race post time on Sunday night, followed by Rideau Carleton at 6:30 p.m., Windsor at 7:00 p.m. and Woodbine at 7:30 p.m.

Ten of the 20 races which players will handicap in the championship are mandatory races. These races will be announced at the TCNHC Welcome Reception & Brunch for the players at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel on Sunday.

Players then have 10 optional races to choose from the remaining races at the four Canadian harness tracks.

The Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship will feature a field of 40 players from across the country competing for a $25,000 grand prize.
