Dr. Moore Headlining PEI Conference
Well known veterinarian and trainer Dr. Ian Moore will be a featured speaker at the 2020 PEI Horse Breeders Conference, which will be held this weekend.
The conference will take place on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park, located in Charlottetown, PEI.
Dr. Moore will speak Friday evening on yearling preparation and what buyers want, and at noon on Saturday regarding industry trends in breeding yearlings.
The conference will start Friday at 7 p.m., and in addition to Dr. Moore’s presentation, the conference will feature a trainers’ panel with Earl Smith, Kenny Arsenault, and Kevin MacLean. A social hour will conclude the evening at Red Shores Turfs.
Saturday will start at 10:30 a.m. and is themed ‘The Mare and Foal, From Conceiving to Weaning.’ The day’s activities will kick off with a breeders panel of Donnie MacNeil, Bobby Gordon and Doug MacPhee. In addition to Dr. Moore’s noontime presentation, fellow veterinarians Dr. Ben Stoughton, Dr. Mary McNevin and Dr. Martha Mellish will be a part of presentations on topics ranging from de-worming principles, nutrition on your breeding farm, getting your mare pregnant, preparing for foaling, and the first 24 hours of your foal’s life.
