‘Team Ontario’ To Invade Truro
The Nova Scotia Harness Racing Industry Association is pleased to announce the Nova Scotia versus Ontario Driver's Challenge.
The event will take place at Truro Raceway on Sunday, May 24. First-race post time will be at 1 p.m.
Horsemen associations from all three Nova Scotia tracks are working together with the industry association to help promote harness racing in the province.
Participating drivers representing Nova Scotia will be Ernie Laffin and Paul Langille from Truro Raceway, Redmond Doucet from Inverness Raceway and Mark Pezzarello from Northside Downs.
‘Team Ontario’ representatives will include James MacDonald, Doug McNair, Bob McClure and Louis-Philippe Roy.
The last Nova Scotia versus Ontario Driver's Challenge took place in the summer of 2017, and it was ‘Team Nova Scotia’ that edged out Team Ontario in the final dash to be crowned champions of the event.
News of the 2020 event was announced last week, and there has since been quite a bit of excitement around the challenge itself. The fact that the Team Ontario reinsmen will be coming to the maritime province has created a buzz of its own.
