Turner Memorial Drawn At Truro
Truro Raceway will host three $9,173 divisions of the George and Donnie Turner Memorial for three-year-old pacers on its 15-dash card on Sunday.
The stakes event is the only one in the Maritimes where fillies and colts race together.
Semjac Legacy, a finalist in the Atlantic Sires Stakes filly division, drew the rail in a six-horse split for driver-trainer Darren Crowe, while N Xample Deal, a recent winner of a gold division of the Lady Slipper Stakes at Summerside, drew the rail in one of the two seven-horse divisions.
The other division will see Calmlee Jason, a finalist in the Atlantic Sires Stakes, draw the rail for Carl Isenor. Hoping to improve his resume in this division before heading for the mixed sale at Harrisburg is multi-stakes winner Seawind Dropper from the Phil Pinkney Stable.
The Truro program will also feature a $5,200 division of three-year-old trotters in the Nova Scotia Series, the first time in three years that the event has filled.
First-race post time is 1:00 p.m.
