Lifelong Dream Vaults To London Upset
Dragging in the rear of the field, Lifelong Dream catapulted from near last to score at 9-1 in the $9,400 Fillies and Mares Preferred 3 Pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District going an added distance on Tuesday (Feb. 11).
Woodmere Wyldstyle led the field to a :28.4 first quarter pursued by Karans Choice racing uncovered and gaining ground into a :58.3 half. Karans Choice retreated heading to three-quarters, dropping to last as Giggle Hanover launched from the rear of the field first over with Lifelong Dream on her back moving to the 1:28.4 marker. Giggle Hanover edged to within a length of the lead entering the stretch but stalled. Lifelong Dream then swung off cover and dashed past the pair to win by two lengths in 2:07.1.
A five-year-old mare by Rambaran, Lifelong Dream won her eighth race in 72 starts, earning $87,657. Trainer Greg Merlo owns the $20.50 winner while Brett MacDonald sat in the bike.
