Meadows Main Event To Mister Spot A
Mister Spot A dogged the leader, Yankee Roller A, for more than one-half mile, put him away in the lane and went on to capture Friday’s feature at The Meadows, a $16,500 Conditioned Pace.
Yankee Roller A looked sharp early in his domestic debut but could not endure the relentless pressure of Mister Spot A, who scored in 1:54.1 in the slop. Do Work Son was second, a length back, while Lord Of Winterfell rallied for show.
Tony Hall piloted the winner, a six-year-old Village Jolt-Eerie Iris gelding who triumphed for the third time in five starts this year and lifted his career bankroll to $114,262, for trainer Scott Betts and owner Arrhythmic LLC.
Jim Pantaleano collected four wins and Hall three on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Monday when the program features an $11,705.26 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5 and a $5,000 total-pool guarantee in the Pick 4 (races 3-6). First post is 1:05 p.m.
