Outlaw Allie Oops Wins Sixth Straight
Odds-on favourite Outlaw Allie Oops took control early and blew clear of her competition to win her sixth-consecutive race when taking a $6,100 conditioned claiming pace at Century Mile on Sunday (Jan. 5).
Sitting pocket through a :28.1 first quarter, driver Jamie Gray circled Outlaw Allie Oops to the lead into the backside and gained separation on early pacesetter True Horizon heading to a :56.1 half. The four-year-old Blue Burner mare continued to draw away from the field and owned 10 lengths passing three-quarters in 1:24.1. Gray shut down the mare through the stretch and coasted to a six-and-a-half length victory in 1:53.4 chased by True Horizon and Bearcat Josi.
Winning her 10th race from 22 starts, Outlaw Allie Oops races for owner-trainer Joe Ratchford. She has earned $46,378 and paid $3.70 to win.
Trainer Lance Ward collected three wins on the day. He won the opener with Outlaw Tootsieroll ($5.30) and then returned to the winner’s circle two races later with Shark Cove ($5.80). Ward then won his third when Rapid Reaction ($4.50) ground first over to take the fifth race by a half length.
