‘Undercover’ Strikes In Rideau Preferred
Race-favourite Undercover Strike strode clear of pacesetter Revenue Agent to take the $8,600 Preferred Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday, Dec. 29.
Revenue Agent raced uncontested through fractions of :28.1, :58.3 and 1:28.2 with Undercover Strike drafting from the pocket. Into the stretch, trainer-driver Guy Gagnon lunged out of the hole and slid past Revenue Agent with ease to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths in 1:58.2. Ghirardelli Lindy, stalking the top two, finished third.
An 11-year-old gelding by Striking Sahbra, Undercover Strike won his seventh race from 38 starts this season and his 37th from 152 overall, earning $698,554. Catheline Pelletier owns the $4.90 winner.
