Collective Wisdom Leads The Way
On top at every call, Collective Wisdom was the boss in the featured pace on a special Customer Appreciation program Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Customer Appreciation Day highlighted the Saturday card, sponsored by the P.E.I. Harness Racing Industry Association with prize draws all day for anyone purchasing a pari-mutuel ticket. To view the list of prize winners, click here.

Collective Wisdom won the biggest dash of the program in the $2,550 featured pace cruising to the front from post four and laying down splits of :28.3, :59.3 and 1:29.2 in line to Gilles Barrieau. The Jackie Matheson trained mare closed out the mile in 1:58.4 for the trainer’s third win of the day. Woodmere Farms of Marshfield holds the ownership papers of Collective Wisdom.
Matheson, Barrieau and owner Woodmere Farms also found the winner’s circle with The Time To Win in the fastest mile of the day in 1:58. Matheson other training victory was with IC True Grit in a 1:58.4 trip for driver Mike McGuigan.
David Dowling had three winners on the program including Fern Hill Dynamic in 2:01.1 for trainer Cindy MacDonald of Montague, Sophist in 2:01 for her second straight for trainer Chris MacKay of French River and Rockin Indy as a popular favourite in the finale in 1:59.2 from the Troy Murray stable of Clyde River.
Marc Campbell opened up the program with a victory aboard Dueling Banjos in 2:02 for Jay Noye of Pleasant Valley, then followed it up with wins from his own stable with Charlottes Western in 2:01.3 and Freddie in the $2,350 Open trot in 2:01.2.
The duo of driver Adam Merner and trainer Chris Davies found the winner’s circle twice as Miss Sangria won in 2:00.1 and Runnindownadream was a 2:02.3 victor in her maiden breaking victory.
