Sell A Bit N, Campbell Shine At Fraser

It was a memorable Friday night at the office for driver Brandon Campbell who won half the 10-race card at Fraser Downs including a triumph in the $50,000 Lady Elements Open Final with the Jim Marino-trained Sell A Bit N.

Campbell was patient with Sell A Bit N, as he got away fourth in the early going while Tahiti Seelster buzzed away on the front end through fractions of :27.2, :56.1 and 1:25. Campbell tipped his charge first over on the way to the three-quarter pole, and then the mare kicked home in :28.4 to win by 2-1/4 lengths over heavily favoured Blue Grotto in 1:54.1. Tahiti Seelster held on for the show dough.

Sent off at odds of 5-1, Sell A Bit N won for the third time this season and for the 33rd time in her career. The nine-year-old daughter of Julius Caesar-Nomorenuki, who is owned by Marino and J J J Stables of Prince George, BC, pushed her lifetime earnings over $1 million with the win.

As for Campbell, he also nabbed wins on the program with Chase The Ace (1:56.1), Town Speaker (1:56.2), Roaring Home (1:56.1) and Odds Western Three (1:58.3).

Campbell is on the verge of manufacturing his best year to date thanks to his 155 wins and purse earnings that are now in excess of $1.2 million – a personal best. He’s merely seven wins away from matching his highest, single season win total of 162 from the 2012 season.

To date, Campbell has racked up 1,715 victories and purse earnings of close to $11 million.
