Pasadena Star Swoops To Rideau Win
With a first-over brush, eight-year-old Kadabra gelding Pasadena Star took the $8,600 Preferred Handicap Trot on Sunday, Dec. 1 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Lmc Mass Gem overtook the lead from Revenue Agent passing the first quarter in :27.4. Trainer-driver Stephane Pouliot then sent Pasadena Star from fourth after the leader through a :57.3 half. Pasadena Star swept to the front and opened three lengths on Lmc Mass Gem past three-quarters in 1:26.2, a margin which he maintained through the stretch in progress to a 1:56.2 win. Lmc Mass Gem finished second with Seeyou Men third.
Owned by 9096 9205 Quebec Inc. and Pierre Mineault, Pasadena Star won his 10th race from 38 starts this season and his 41st from 180 overall, earning $429,247. He paid $11.00 to win.
Trainer John MacMillan collected three wins on the 12-race card. He sent Shes Got Game ($4.20), Vanilla Malted ($3.50) and Roczen Hanover ($7.20) to wire-to-wire victories.
