Marino Trio Victorious At Fraser
Trainer Jim Marino visited the winner’s circle thrice during the 11-race matinee at Fraser Downs on Sunday, Nov. 3.
Marino opened the day as driver Tony Kerwood launched Cantbeatacheetah first over up the backside, blitzed pacesetter Rock Allstar and stuck a head in front at the finish to take the first race. The 1:59.2 winner paid $19.00 to win.
Several races later Marino delivered with the betting favourite in back-to-back races. Kerwood again raced for Marino behind trainee Cool Cowboy ($6.80), who took command from post 8 and wired his competition with a 1:54.2 mile. In the race following driver William Tainsh gave Outlawburntpopcorn ($6.00) a pocket trip before sliding past tiring leader Rush And A Brush and holding Dali Double at bay by a head in 1:57.2.
