Rose Run Quest Cruises
After having grabbed control of the race early from Post 7, Rose Run Quest eased his way through the fractions and went on to deliver as the heavy favourite in the Sunday afternoon (Nov. 3) featured pace at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.
As part of a four-win performance by leading driver Marc Campbell, Rose Run Quest captured the afternoon’s $2,900 Preferred Pace in 1:55.4.
The Blair Hansen-owned pacer was sent to the front from the outer Post 7 and laid down fractions of :28.1, :57.2 and 1:27.1 before notching the two and a half-length victory. Rockin Indy (who was driven by David Dowling) finished second while Varadero Hanover (Ken Murphy) finished third and completed the $100 triactor ticket.
Campbell also won with Eagle Jolt in 1:57.2 from his own stable and with Howmac Magic in 1:59.3 for trainer Paul Biggar of Tyne Valley. Painted Pony and Campbell teamed up to win the afternoon finale in 1:59 for owner-trainer Raymond White of Belfast.
Trainer Jackie Matheson sent out two winners on the card (Outrageous Story, Ron Matheson, 2:01.2; Howmacs Dragonator, Mike McGuigan, 1:58.4).
The total wager on the day was $44,105.
