Rennison Dominates At Truro

Truro Raceway wrapped up its 2019 season Friday evening with an eight-race program, and trainer George Rennison celebrated a Grand Slam performance.

Rennison nabbed his first of four wins with Seethelightsngo (2:00.3) in Race 2, and he returned to victory lane in Race 4 with Lively Freddie (1:56.2).

He came right back to capture Race 5 with Larjon Lachlan (2:01.1) and he finished off the night – and the season at the half-mile oval – with Distinctiv Rusty (2:00.3) in Race 8.

It was another solid season for Rennison, who matched last year’s number of starters (203) and came up just one win shy of equalling last year’s 42-win season.

Rennison needs seven more triumphs to join the 500-win club, and just over $1,000 to exceed $550,000 in lifetime earnings.

Well Did captured the $1,675 winners over pace in 1:58.1 for trainer/driver Paul Langille.

The eight-year-old son of Well Said-Marnie Hall came first-over on the way to the half, and he kept digging before securing the lead at the three-quarter pole and then drawing clear to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Catch Twenty Two. Lets Get Pickled rounded out the Trifecta ticket.

Sent off as the 2-5 favourite, the gelding improved this year’s record to 13-5-2 from 33 starts with the victory. It was the 34th lifetime triumph for the career winner of close to $165,000.
