With more than 50 years of training experience under his belt, 72-year-old Ed Peconi recently found himself on the sidelines watching.

Two bad shoulders and the resulting surgery had him out of the game. Then he took a Muscle Mass colt that was bred by his second-cousin, to Hawkinsville, GA and trained him down, often alongside fellow Canadian ‘youngster’, 66-year-old Paul Walker. When the two men brought their colts north this past spring, it didn’t take long for either of them to make a loud splash in the OSS program. By Keith McCalmont
