She Didn’t ‘Drop The Ball’
It’s not often that a broodmare accounts for two individual stakes winners on successive days, but millionaire mare Drop The Ball p, 1:48.2 ($1,427,265) did just that last week.
On Friday (Oct. 18), Drop The Ball’s Somebeachsomewhere filly New Year was ultra impressive while winning her Breeders Crown elimination in 1:52.
A day after New Year’s victory, Drop The Ball’s Captaintreacherous gelding Admiral Ballsy was victorious in the New Jersey Sire Stakes at Freehold Raceway in 1:53.2.
