Bugger Max Best In Saint John
At the age of nine, pacing gelding Bugger Max is enjoying the most consistent campaign of his career and that's music to the ears of his connections.
On Saturday (October 5) at Exhibition Park Raceway, Bugger Max was once again a factor in the feature race of the week. Driver Mark Haig guided the gelding to a gate-to-wire win in the $1,500 Winners Over Pace. Carving out panels of :29.4, 1:00.2 and 1:31.1, Bugger Max had plenty left for a 30-second closing quarter for a 2:01.1 score. He was more than two lengths the best with favoured Brandons Glory (John Davidson) next best and City Of The Year third.
Trained and co-owned by Gordon White along with Dale Orr, Bugger Max (Believeinbruiser - Spurs Galley) picked up his 24th career win with earnings exceeding $121,847. In 20 seasonal starts, Bugger Max boasts 18 top-three finishes (5-7-6) and has missed just one paycheque.
